Flavio
R. Benito, Master Piper, belongs to the late XXth century Asturian
generation that has brought so many and good artists to our traditional
music. His
substantial record as a teacher includes a wide range of activities
related to the Asturian bagpipe teaching, always as a background to the
traditional Asturian folk music, which extends from
its teaching at some town schools of music to the creation and
conduction of piper bands, without leaving behind the release of musical
works to ease the teaching of the most typical Asturian musical istrument. We also have very interesting scores for the bagpipe by this same author, which are integrated in some traditional Asturian song books, tunes from several countries, teaching handbooks and exercise notebooks for bagpipe students. His
great talent to compose is evident from his many musical pieces, which
clearly show his liking for bagpipe teaching and in which, in most cases,
some clear traces reflect his stay in the numerous countries where he has
given some courses on Asturian traditional music. This
course offers limitless possibilities to anyone who uses it to learn how
to play the Asturian bagpipe whatever the level is, that is, from
beginners to the most proficient ones. The effort made by Flavio R. Benito will satisfactorily be compensated by the time each of us get the maximun efficiency from the teachings in this Asturian bagpipe course by combining our devotion to learn with the gradual structure of its work scheme. |
